Uhuru HEP aims to harness the potential energy of Murchison falls to generate electrical energy.

The Murchison falls are also the famous tourist site. The project thus faced local opposition for its utilization for power generation. The challenge was preservation of environment and aesthetics and redressing local opposition vis a vis economic development through electricity generation.
